Grades Pre-K through 2nd
Little learners are bursting with imagination and big ideas! During my author visits, I bring my stories to life through interactive read-alouds, creative visuals, and lively discussions. Students explore themes of hope, kindness, and creativity while gaining confidence in their own ideas and voices. For many children, meeting an author is a once-in-a-childhood experience—made possible because you opened the door. These moments create lasting memories that become part of each student’s own unfolding story.

Angela crafts enchanting adventures, each rooted in Social Emotional Learning. Inspiring and educating young minds, she’s an engaging author to bring to your school. Angela will bring out the best in your students in both her reading and writing sessions!
Elementary Package 1
Author for a Half Day-
With 13 years of teaching experience, Angela brings out the best in students through author interaction, meaningful connection, and hands-on engagement.

Elementary Package 2
Author for a Day-
Most full-day author visits offer 3–4 sessions, but Angela’s full-day visit includes 6—more opportunities for students to engage, write, and be inspired.

Texas Commission on the Arts (TCA) Texas Touring Roster
Angela Henderson Smith is part of the Texas Commission on the Arts Texas Touring Roster for 2026-2028! Support may be available to assist with our booking fees through the Arts Respond Performance Support grant program. This quarterly program provides support to Texas schools, libraries, and nonprofit organizations for hiring an artist (Angela) from the Texas Touring Roster to give a performance, residency, or workshop. These applications are funded based on a sliding scale ranging from 30% to 50% of contracted fees. Support is based on TCA’s available funds. Contact TCA at 512-463‐5535 for more information.

Introduction Bio for Elementary Schools:
Angela Henderson Smith lives in Dallas, Texas, with her husband and three teenagers. She taught English Language Arts for 13 years and coached award-winning middle school writing teams. She is an author who loves writing stories and helping students discover the stories within them too. Angela also helps lead a writing group of local authors called SCBWI. Her favorite days of work are visiting schools to share her books with kids! She knows that you all have amazing imaginations, and she can’t wait to create some wonderful memories with you today!
